Ebunjan Theatre To Present Rights of The Child Play

Ebunjan Performing Arts Association is set to present a new eclectic short play titled Rights of The Child at the famous Ebunjan Theatre in Kanifing, scheduled for 8th and 9th June 2023 at 7:30 and 7:00 pm respectively.

This play which allows free entry will address aspects of children’s rights and it will go with dance, poetry, monologues, and music.

The writers and directors of the play are the University of The Gambia students of the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Education that enrolled in Ebunjan’s Playwriting and Directing Training Programme.

Rights of the Child plays will feature different actors which include students of secondary schools, primary schools, Schools for the Deaf, Blind, and those with Special Needs. The Artistic Director is Janet Badjan Young popularly known as Aunty Janet while the Theatre-In-Education Consultant is Madam Grace Chapman.

The play is funded by the Netherlands Embassy in Dakar and it is two performances for Invited Guests – Gala performance slated for Thursday, June 8 2023 at 7:30 pm and a second performance for students, teachers, and the general public slated for Friday, June 9 2023 at 7:00 pm and admission is free.
